Upgrading your Calcium Demo Installation
Install the Demo
First, if you haven't already installed the demo version of
Calcium 4.0 you need to do so. Please go to
our download
page for instructions.
Upgrading to the licensed version
Once the demo is installed, you need to install a few more
files to convert the installation to the version you
purchased. You can use a simple CGI script for this, or you
can just copy the files yourself.
Upgrade Script
To use the script, download the "CalciumUpgrade.pl" file and
put it in the same directory as your main Calcium script
(that's typically 'cgi-bin'). Then browse to the appropriate
URL; you'll be asked for your registration name and password,
and the script will download and install the upgrade files.
Download the upgrade script
CalciumUpgrade.pl
(< ~10K bytes; Right click the link,
and pick "Save Link As..." or "Save Target As...")
Manual Upgrade
Instead of using the script, you can download the files and
install them yourself. To get the files, follow this link;
you'll need your registration name and password:
Get upgrade package
After you enter your information, your browser will download
a package of files. Just unpackage that into the "upgrades"
directory of your Calcium 4.0 installation. Note that files
should automatically be unpackaged into the "Calendar" and
"Operation" sub-directories of "upgrades". (If your site is
remotely hosted, you'll likely need to unpackage it on your
desktop machine, and copy the files up to the site.)
Thanks again for using Calcium! As always, please don't
hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.
