Q: I just installed TripleSync for Outlook, but don't see the new menu items or toolbar button?

A: Please check under "Tools / Options... / Other / Advanced Options... / COM Add-Ins..." to make sure TripleSync is listed there.  It should have a check mark next to it, and be set to "Load At Startup".  Also, you can verify that it hasn't been disabled for some reason by going into Outlook and choosing "Help / About Microsoft Office Outlook... / Disabled Items...".

Another possibility is if you are using Outlook 2002 and ActiveSync you may need to install the Office SP3 in order for COM Add-Ins to be loaded properly.  For reference, see the KB329098 article from Microsoft.

Q: Will TripleSync for Palm work with my Handspring?

A: Yes, TripleSync for Palm will work with any handheld device running the Palm operating system.

Q: Will TripleSync work with my PDA running Windows CE?

A: No, TripleSync for Palm only syncs to handhelds running the Palm operating system.  Instead, you can use TripleSync for Outlook, and then sync your handheld to Outlook.

Q: How do I sync to Palm Desktop after installing TripleSync for Palm?

A: Only 1 conduit at a time can be installed for the date book.  If you're syncing your Palm to TripleSync then the Palm Desktop calendar will not get updated.  TripleSync does provide a shortcut for you to switch the installed conduit back/forth between TripleSync and Palm Desktop.  From within TripleSync see "File / Options... / Palm Conduit" to switch what conduit is currently installed.  You can then do another HotSync, and the currently installed conduit will be used.  TripleSync offers shortcut keys to switch between installed conduits.  From the main TripleSync window you may also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + P to install the TripleSync (Primary) conduit, and the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + N to install the alterNate conduit.

Q: I have multiple calendars set up in Outlook, can I choose which one to sync with?

A: Yes.  From within Outlook choose "Tools / TripleSync Options..." and pick the Outlook calendar you'd like to sync with.

Q: Why don't I see TripleSync listed in HotSync Manage?

A: There are 2 common reasons why TripleSync's conduit may not show up in HotSync:

  1. Make sure you are installing the "Palm" version, and  not the "Outlook" version, of TripleSync.

  2. During the installation you will be prompted to install the TripleSync conduit, or leave the current calendar conduit.  You must select to install the TripleSync one, as this is not the default setting for this option.

Q: I get a WinInet 12007 error when trying to do a WebSync?

A: This error is usually due to a firewall or some security software blocking TripleSync's access to the internet.  Please make sure your firewall software is set to allow TripleSync to access the internet.
