10:00am - 5:00pm John will be running a day long workshop looking at composing for folk and dance tunes. The day will explore different methods of writing tunes, looking at constructing melody lines, arranging phrases and chordal accompaniments. More intricate elements of folk tune composing will also be explored, including the playing around with the rhythmic elements of folk dance tunes, and adding chromatic flavours to spice up your tune writing.
