Instructions for Accessing and Participating at a New Brunswick Convention

Updated: June 21, 2020

NOTE: DISCARD ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS.

Accessing & Participating in Convention - Convention Attendees
Everyone should be able to easily access the Zoom meeting by using one of the following three methods:
☎️Regular Telephone: Call directly into the meeting using the provided phone number followed by a Meeting ID# using your home phone or mobile phone.
💻Computer: Click on the provided Website URL on your laptop or desktop.
📱Smart Phone (iOS or Android): Click on the provided Website URL on your smart phone.

Here are instructions for accessing, participating and serving in a Zoom Meeting online only convention:

NOTE: If you decide to have more than one connection (telephone, laptop, desktop or smart phone) to the meeting in a single physical room, please use only one of those connections to listen to audio and speak on a microphone. If you do not follow this guidance, there will be an echo for all attendees and you will be muted by the host until only a single connection is using audio.

☎️Entering with a regular telephone or regular mobile phone (non-smartphone):
Dial: 1-929-205-6099 (Note: From the East Coast. Other location access phone numbers are available at the end of the email.)
Upon the prompt, enter the Meeting ID: 839 1980 0211 followed by the # key. You will not have a 撤articipant ID so just hit the # key again. Note: No password is required for regular telephone.
Please mute your phone when not speaking.
By default you should be muted. This status will be announced as you join the meeting.
You can mute and unmute your line by typing *6.
Note: If one of the co-hosts detects background noise coming from your connection you may be muted by the host. To unmute your phone when you are ready to participate type *6 to unmute the line.
Note: If background noise continues to be a problem from your connection, you may be removed from the Zoom meeting by a co-host.
To participate in the testimony meeting:
If you are using a regular telephone or regular mobile phone and know that you want to testify before the meeting, it is important that you join the meeting at least 10 minutes BEFORE the session and hit *9.
The *9 raises a virtual hand on the zoom screen that the co-host can then enter into a virtual queue.
Before the meeting, the co-host will address you by your phone number and ask you for your full name to be entered into Zoom. This way the leader knows your name.
If you decide to testify after the meeting starts, when the leader asks for those who would like to be added to the queue to testify type *9 on your mobile or home telephone.
The *9 raises a virtual hand on the screen that the co-host can then enter into a virtual queue.
The co-host will move you into a breakout room (temporary leaving the convention room) and ask you for your full name (First & Last) so the chat virtual queue can be updated with your full name. Your name will also be added to the Participant list in place of your phone number. Once the co-host gets your name you will be put back into the convention room.
The testimony meeting leader will be reading the list of next three brethren that are in the list so you can hear your name as confirmed on this list (virtual queue).
The Zoom Co-host will add your name to the chat virtual queue and you will be asked to participate when it is your turn.
When it is your turn the leader with say, 釘r or Sr. unmute your mic and please testify.
Type *6 and you will hear that your mic is unmuted and you can start to testify.
Note that those using computers and smart phones have ability to directly join the virtual queue for those who would like like to testify.
NOTE: Breakout Rooms - Breakout rooms will be used during select intermissions to spread out the fellowship into smaller groups.
💻Entering with a desktop or laptop computer:

ZOOM LINK: Click on this link or copy and paste it into your internet browser address window on the internet:us02web.zoom.us/j/83919800211?pwd=amZKcmRodk4vejFsbWk1WVhoS0tSQT09
Click on 笛oin With Computer Audio.
Make sure your computer speakers are turned on and microphone is muted. You can find the microphone button on the bottom left of the Zoom screen
Note: If background noise continues to be a problem from your connection, you may be removed from the Zoom meeting by the host.
If you plan to testify during the convention, make sure your microphone is ready for use.
If you would like to be seen on video, when the conference room opens, click on "start video" in the lower left corner of the Zoom screen (black area to the right of the microphone button.) Note: Some speakers really appreciate seeing the attentive faces of the brethren while speaking. If Zoom server bandwidth becomes as issue, we may need to limit video during the sessions to prioritize audio.
Hover your cursor there if you do not see the "start video" words. Most laptops have cameras, but desktops do not. But a desktop will still show you the other brethren's pictures.
You have two options to see other brethren痴 videos
If you do not have mic and wish to be heard, also enter with your regular telephone or mobile phone (instructions above). (Note: You will have two connections into the meeting.) If you follow this option, make sure you only join audio with one of the connections or an echo will result.
There are various Video Layouts that can be used:
Full Screen
Active Speaker (Shows a enlarged view of whoever is currently speaking)
Gallery View (Shows up to 49 participants at a time)
Mini - Minimize video with the ability to move video around your screen and hide entirely as needed.
For information on how to Change your Video Layout go to this link: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362323-How-Do-I-Change-The-Video-Layout-
